Prof. Kadri Sylejmani has been elected Director of the newly established Center for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Prishtina (AIUP). The decision was taken at a recent meeting of the Center’s Council and marks an important step in building the Center’s leadership structure.
The Center for Artificial Intelligence at the University of Prishtina aims to advance artificial intelligence research and education in Kosovo*, while fostering innovation, collaboration and the development of professional skills. According to AIUP, the Center seeks to create an ecosystem where research meets practical applications, contributing to technological advancement and economic growth in the region.
Under the leadership of Prof. Sylejmani, AIUP is expected to further develop as a platform for research, education and cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. The Center’s work focuses on connecting scientific research with real-world AI applications, supporting education and talent development, and strengthening collaboration with local and international partners.
Prof. Kadri Sylejmani is a full professor at the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His main areas of expertise include algorithm design and development for hard optimisation problems.
