As part of the POLICY ANSWERS, the Mihajlo Pupin Institute, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vojvodina, organized workshops in Belgrade (25th May 2023) and Novi Sad (30th May 2023) on the topic “Building Business Sector Capacities for Green Transition”.
The workshop educators were Siniša Mitrović (Director of the Circular Economy Center at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce) and Radman Šelmić (Advisor to the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce for Green and Circular Economy and Digital Transformation). The workshop primarily targeted small and medium-sized enterprises but was open to all other interested companies seeking to familiarise themselves with contemporary trends in this field and to improve the quality of their business. The workshop aimed at providing a comprehensive analysis of the significance and challenges of the Green Agenda for the Serbian economy, with a particular focus on the circular economy, and assist businesses in implementing green transition in their operations.
Various topics were covered during the workshops, including the impact of the Green Agenda on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, introduction to the concepts of industrial symbiosis, non-financial reporting, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) as a new standard for financial access, due diligence, and supply chains.
By participating in these workshops, more than 35 companies had the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and insights into best practices that can contribute to the competitiveness and long-term success of businesses in a changing business environment.
