Open Laboratory for Advanced and Sustainable Materials was opened at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje

At the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, a Laboratory for Advanced and Sustainable Materials worth 90,000 euros was opened on 25 April 2024. The laboratory will enable the development of innovative technology for multifunctional military uniforms that will be fire-resistant, protect against microorganisms and UV radiation, and will detect nerve gases through color change.

The laboratory was opened as part of the project “Nanocoatings for Multifunctional Textile Materials for Military Uniforms,” carried out by expert teams from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy at UKIM, the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade, Serbia, and Texas A&M University in the USA, and funded by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
