GÉANT, the pan-European data and communication network that serves the research and education community across Europe (and worldwide) has been active strengthening its cooperation in the Western Balkans. The interconnections of national research and education networks (NRENs) enables collaboration on projects ranging from biological science to earth observation and arts and culture. GÉANT also provides various services including identity and trust, multi-domain monitoring, dynamic circuits, and roaming via the eduroam service. GÉANT, co-funded by the European Commission and the NRENs, is built and operated by the GÉANT Association, involving a collaboration between 41 partners.
Earlier this year, several stakeholders set out on a tour through the Western Balkans, visiting Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina (see more information here) and Montenegro, North Macedonia and Kosovo (for the report, see here). Part of the trip was also an info day,
