Competition Announced for Conceptual Design of Athletics Stadium in Podgorica

The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the Athletics Federation of Montenegro, has announced a competition for the conceptual architectural design of the Athletics Stadium in Podgorica.

• The competition opened on Monday, October 14, 2024.
• The deadline for submission is Sunday, December 15, 2024.
• The results will be published by December 25, 2024.

The goal of the competition is to select the best conceptual design for the Athletics Stadium, ensuring it meets all required conditions and harmonizes with the specifications outlined in the competition terms. Participants are expected to propose a modern solution that enhances the facility’s form and materialization, contributing to the aesthetic value of both the immediate and wider city areas.

The planned location for the stadium is in the Stari Aerodrom area, Konik zone, situated north of Pera Ćetkovića Boulevard, east of Veljko Vlahovića Boulevard, and south of Avda Mededovića Street, about 300 meters north of the Football Association of Montenegro’s facilities.

The budget for the stadium construction is estimated at around 13 million euros, which covers the facility’s construction, equipment, and landscaping.
