Milica Božović, Associate for Development and Donor-Funded Projects at the Science and Technology Park Montenegro (STP MNE), successfully completed a POLICY ANSWERS Fellowship at the German Aerospace Center (DLR Projektträger, DLR-PT) in Germany. Hosted by mentors Birgit Ditgens and Malte Schrage-Veltins, the fellowship focused on innovation management, technology transfer, start-up support, and EU funding opportunities.
During her visit to Bonn, Cologne, Sankt Augustin, and Berlin, Milica engaged with experts from DLR, the University of Bonn, Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, and Projektträger Jülich. The program provided insights into best practices such as intellectual property (IP) management, proof-of-concept funding, start-up incubation, and the integration of research into industry.
The fellowship resulted in a roadmap for strengthening STP MNE’s role in Montenegro’s innovation ecosystem, emphasizing entrepreneurial education, structured IP management, stronger university–industry collaboration, and participation in EU-funded projects.
This exchange not only expanded cooperation opportunities between Montenegro and German institutions but also contributes directly to the POLICY ANSWERS project’s mission of fostering innovation ecosystems in the Western Balkans.
