In the framework of the Ministerial Meeting of the Western Balkans Steering Platform on Research and Innovation, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) is organising a presentation session to provide an overview of their available Research Infrastructures and their services rendered to the Western Balkans.
The JRC manages and operates a portfolio of 53 state-of-the-art, unique research infrastructures, 34 of which are in the non-nuclear area. Access to these experimental facilities is particularly important for the Western Balkans, where limited resources hinder efforts to bridge the scientific and technical gap with other leading European regions.
To facilitate this access, the Open Access to JRC Research Infrastructures programme allows academia, research institutions and public organisations from the Western Balkans to submit proposals in response to open calls. Successful applicants can carry out experiments, receive training, and build capacity at the JRC, thus strengthening the region’s research capabilities. This programme will be showcased in detail during the presentation session.
