The Advancement of Treatments for Rare Diseases conference is a two-day scientific event scheduled for 5 and 6 March 2026 at The Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics in Nicosia, Cyprus. The event will bring together researchers, clinicians, policymakers, patient organisations and other stakeholders engaged in rare disease research and innovation. The conference programme focuses on translational research, clinical trials, diagnostics, data sharing and the integration of rare diseases into national and European health and research strategies. Particular attention is given to multi-stakeholder collaboration, including the role of European Reference Networks, research infrastructures and patient involvement in research and care pathways.
For stakeholders from the Western Balkans, the conference is relevant as a platform for international networking, knowledge exchange and visibility within the European research and health policy landscape. Participation may support integration into European research initiatives, foster collaboration with established research centres and contribute to capacity building in rare disease research and healthcare systems. The event is of interest to actors working at the intersection of research and innovation, health policy and societal challenges related to rare diseases.
