The EU Enlargement Forum is the European Commission’s flagship event to advance the debate on EU enlargement as a shared political, societal, and generational project. It highlights enlargement as a key pillar of the 2024–2029 Commission’s strategic vision — strengthening stability, prosperity, democracy, and the EU’s global role.
Bringing together political leaders, civil society, entrepreneurs, artists, youth, and experts from EU Member States and enlargement countries, the Forum promotes an inclusive dialogue on Europe’s future.
Programme highlights:
- 08:45 – 09:30: Registration & welcome coffee
- 09:35 – 09:45: Opening video message by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission
- 17:15 – 17:30: Closing speech by António Costa, President of the European Council
Under the slogan “Completing the Union, Securing Our Future,” the Forum invites organisations across Europe to host related public or satellite events that foster discussion on enlargement and its opportunities.
