The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) is organising an international event aimed at unleashing the untapped potential of transformative innovation in the Western Balkans region. The event is organised within the UNECE Transformative Innovation Network(ETIN) on 20 and 21 September 2023 in Pržno, Montenegro and will bring together innovation stakeholders, including government representatives, international experts, and the private sector.
Considering the increasingly complex structural challenges following pandemics, poverty, rapid technology developments, and war, along with the expected consequences of climate change, transformative innovation could be a critical tool to drive economic progress, while simultaneously addressing pressing societal challenges and achieving environmental sustainability. By creating the conditions for ground-breaking technologies and fostering creative solutions, countries can improve living standards and ensure long-term growth. During this event, particpants will explore the evolving landscape of transformative innovation, its policy implications, and the ways to monitor and support these efforts.
