The Georgian Institute for Research & Innovation (GIRI) is a rapidly growing organisation based in Tbilisi, dedicated to advancing research excellence, innovation policy, and strategic development in Georgia and the
broader EU enlargement region. GIRI specialises in the modernisation of higher education and research systems and in facilitating effective collaboration between academia, industry, and government. The organisation
actively promotes the integration of artificial intelligence and research-driven entrepreneurship into education and science ecosystems, while supporting the development of sustainable, inclusive innovation
environments. As one of Georgia’s designated host organisations for voluntary Horizon Europe National Contact Points (NCPs), GIRI plays a central role in promoting national participation in EU R&I programmes through
stakeholder engagement, advisory services, and strategic alignment. In POLICY ENLARGE, GIRI leads Task 4.3, coordinating national capacity building activities in Georgia.
