EXPO 2027 Belgrade: Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All

15 May - 15 August 2027

Belgrade will become a global centre for education, culture, and innovation in 2027, as it hosts the Specialised Expo from 15 May to 15 August 2027. The event is expected to attract over 3 million visitors and representatives from more than 120 countries, all gathering in Belgrade to present their perspectives on the theme of the exhibition.

With the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”, Expo 2027 will highlight the unifying power of sports and music, integral aspects of Serbia’s culture. The event will explore how these domains foster inclusivity, well-being, and harmony among people, transcending boundaries and bringing communities together.

During the 2024 Sports Forum, the upcoming Expo was presented as a key event for the city, with the Director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, Dušan Borovčanin, sharing the vision for the exhibition. He underscored the importance of the “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All” theme, explaining that the concept of play is often overlooked in our development—not just in childhood, but throughout life. Borovčanin highlighted the role of play in sports, music, and even science, where exploration and experimentation lead to significant discoveries.

In addition, the Expo’s organisers emphasised that the event will offer all participating countries, regardless of their technical development, the opportunity to present their achievements in an engaging way. Expo 2027 Belgrade aims to unite with the Belgrade Marathon, Serbia’s most significant sports event, to promote the physical and mental health benefits of sport, while celebrating the universal values of play, sport, and music.

The theme of the Expo ties into the educational focus of the third Sports Forum, where discussions centred on the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in running, as well as the importance of physical activity and major sporting events in Serbia. EXPO 2027 Belgrade proudly supports the Belgrade Marathon, with the goal of promoting positive change through sport and culture, fostering unity and peace, and contributing to a more harmonious world.
