Innovation procurement has been on the European agenda for some time. And rightly so! It is a potentially powerful policy instrument to stimulate innovation and thus contribute to more performing governments, more competitive companies and solving societal problems.
The Programme for Innovation Procurement (PIP) is organising an international conference on innovation procurement on 19 and 20 March 2024 in Tour & Taxis, Brussels. This event is organised in close cooperation with the European Commission and the European Innovation Council. It is part of the Research & Innovation Week.
An international conference during the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union provides a unique opportunity to draw attention to this under-used innovation instrument. The conference will allow public buyers, policy makers and companies from Belgium and abroad to exchange experiences on the theory and practice of innovation procurement.
The Programme for Innovation Procurement demonstrates the Flemish government’s strong commitment to innovation procurement. After almost 7 years since its inception, PIP has developed a validated methodology and launched more than 100 innovative projects, within various sectors and domains and with diverse partners. The EU Presidency 2024 is the ideal opportunity to share the first experiences and results of the programme with the rest of Europe.
This conference is part of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and will be organised during the Research & Innovation Week. This week features the following events:
